Mower control housing: hand-traced iPhone photos to a textured 3D solid

The manual route, start to finish, entirely on an iPhone: a mower control housing photographed from several angles, scaled from a few real measurements, its geometry drawn and refined with the editor's own tools rather than Smart Trace, and the views combined into a dimensioned, textured 3D solid. Played at 8x: the 1:39 runtime is about 13 minutes of recorded work.

Calipers: Smart Trace and automatic layers

A calibrated photograph of digital calipers becomes clean, scaled CAD geometry. Reference-sheet detection, perspective correction, automatic feature recognition, colour-coded layers for each component, cleanup controls and dimensioning.

Remote: a textured 3D model from three traced photos

Starting with clean top, front and side tracings, LensCAD builds a true 3D solid of a remote control in seconds: photo-texture projection, recognition of inner shapes and circles, and raising or recessing selected features by precise amounts before saving the model.

Remote: three-view Smart Trace to DXF or 3D

Three calibrated photographs of a remote control become aligned, scaled CAD geometry: printed reference-sheet detection, perspective correction, Smart Trace, shape cleanup, automatic layers, and adding top, front and side views for 3D reconstruction or DXF export.

Door: prompt-guided Smart Trace of an existing door

A skewed photograph of an existing door becomes clean, scaled CAD geometry: four-point perspective correction, scaling the door to a known 82-inch height, a prompt aimed at the stiles and rails, and rapid cleanup of the resulting architectural linework.

Bolt cutters: Smart Trace with style comparison

A calibrated photograph of bolt cutters becomes clean vector geometry: reference-sheet correction, automatic detection of handles, jaws, pivot holes and internal features, trace-style comparison, selective cleanup, and the finished drawing with the source image hidden.

Earlier workflows.

Recorded before Smart Trace, automatic layers and the 3D solid existed. They still show the correction and scale steps well.

Remote 3X

A remote control captured from three directions using a printed reference sheet for scale and perspective correction. The top, front and side tracings are aligned in 3D and exported together as a DXF file.
